Do you want to make some money on the side by taking paid surveys? If you google “how to earn money online,” you will get over 693 million results – and that number is going up every hour of every day. Of course, not all of these resources will be honest with you. Many will offer you scammy ways of earning money, survey panels that will trick you into feeding them your personal info or even a starting fee. Others will deliver what they promise, but they might still be after your information. There’s also a third group, which is likely the smallest – honest players who play and pay by the rules. But how to tell the difference?

Let’s see which group Life, Fun, and Everything belongs to.

Life Fun and Everything – Company Overview

I’m not here to flood you with drab corporate talk and numbers. But we have to learn the basics about a company if we are to judge its legitimacy. So, here we go. According to the info on their website, they are owned and managed by Phoenix Marketing International, a company that provides market research services to a variety of clients from financial services, automotive, travel & leisure, tech & media, and healthcare.

Their profile on Bloomberg.com doesn’t contain any additional info except for the fact that they are based in Rhinebeck, NY, as well as a list of their board members and executives. The company exists from 1999 and has over 3,000 followers on LinkedIn. Seems like an entirely legit enterprise, considering the fact that most scammers tend to hide themselves from public view, for reasons that aren’t difficult to understand.

How Does It Work?

Unlike many similar platforms, this one actually has a “Register” button – and it’s pretty easy to find near the top left-hand corner. But don’t sigh with relief just yet. Once you click on it, it will bring you the first unpleasant fact: the panel is invite-only. So why do they even offer an option to register? I suppose it’s kind of a hook, and I don’t like it.

So, I didn’t manage to register, which is why I had to sift through gazillion of resources and user reviews. And here’s what I learned.

If you ever get an invitation to join this panel and decide to give it a shot, you will only have to provide some basic information as part of the screener survey. Once you’re done, you will get $4 as compensation. You’ll be able to log into your dashboard and see if there are any surveys for you to take.

That being said, not everyone can even hope to get invited to the panel. You are only eligible if you are a US resident over 13 years old.

Earning Potential

Their FAQ section says that you can take as many surveys as you like. But that’s not entirely true. In fact, it might be seen as just another hook. The truth is, most users only get a single survey per month, and that’s the second unpleasant fact I learned. Now, surveys aren’t long or difficult – most of them won’t take longer than 15-20 minutes to complete. But even so, you won’t be able to earn more than $24 per year. Doesn’t sound very promising, does it?

Furthermore, you won’t be able to cash out until you hit the $25 threshold. In a year or so. But even if you hope to withdraw this amount to your PayPal account, it won’t be possible. They only offer you a chance to redeem your earned money for various gift cards such as Prepaid Visa, AMC Theatres, Delta Airlines, Amazon, and different vouchers for online shopping. Or you can donate your money to charity, or redeem it for sweepstakes entries. The last relevant piece of info is that you will likely have to wait between four and six weeks for the redemption to take place.

Advantages

• The company is definitely legit. Even though this one should be taken for granted, it’s not, and you know it. In the ocean of get-paid-to platforms, the majority is scam, which is why I felt I had to single out their legitimacy as an advantage.
• They will give you a bonus for signing up. $4 doesn’t sound like much, but it’s certainly a nice and welcome way to say “welcome.”
• Surveys aren’t long or complicated. With as much as 20 minutes per survey, you won’t feel like you’re wasting your time.

Disadvantages

• Invite-only panel. I understand that they just don’t need countless applicants for the panel. Everyone is free to restrict access to their service if they like. But I don’t appreciate the fact that they have installed a “Register” button that you can click only to find out that it’s impossible to join.
• The number of surveys is very low. Even if you’re one of those lucky people… Well, I’m not even sure if I could call that lucky. So, even if you got an invitation, it still doesn’t mean you will be able to earn as much or as little as you like. Once survey per month is far from enough to qualify them for a regular gig.
• The cashout threshold is pretty high. To be completely honest, this kind of threshold is kinda standard within the industry. But I still think it’s too high considering how much time it takes you to hit it.
• No money, just gift cards. Much as I like Visa or Amazon, I would prefer to get paid in cash.

Verdict – Is It Worth Joining?

Life, Fun, and Everything isn’t a scammy system hunting for your info to sell it further. They appear to be an honest company, and I wouldn’t hesitate to sign up if I deemed it worthy of my time. But the problem is, I don’t deem them worthy and wouldn’t join them, even if they gave me a chance. I just don’t think $24 per year is enough of an incentive when there are so many better alternatives.

However, I don’t mean to discourage any of you from joining. If you have tons of patience, there’s no reason to think twice. After all, 20 minutes per month means you won’t have to invest much either. So, it should be a win-win situation for patient survey takers.
